RADVISION SCOPIA Certified to Work with Microsoft Lync, OCS

RADVISION pinged our radar with its latest announcement that its technology has Microsoft’s unified communications (UC) qualification for Lync and Office Communications Server. UC VARs looking to expand their playbook with a Microsoft-compatible portfolio should read on for the details …

RADVISION’s SCOPIA Video Gateway for Lync has earned the rights and privileges of the Microsoft Lync 2010 and Microsoft Office Communication Server 2007 R2 certification. Translation? High-quality video for presence rooms, HD videoconferencing and more, all with guaranteed interoperability. On the flip side, Microsoft has yet another vendor that can supply the channel with a “fully qualified video solution.”

But according to RADVISION, its reason for earning Microsoft certification was less about big names and more about the bottom line. Roberto Giamagli, RADVISION’s general manager of the video business unit, said this new relationship can offer “a unique opportunity for businesses with existing video deployments to use those assets with a Microsoft UC environment …” For the channel, that means RADVISION partners can offer package deals that complement a company’s existing UC technology and peripherals. RADVISION seems bullish on the certification, especially since the SCOPIA Video Gateway already scales from entry-level to enterprise and can leverage a swath of UC systems and protocols.

SCOPIA Video Gateway for Lync is available now to all RADVISION partners and resellers. For a deeper dive into the SCOPIA system and other RADVISION UC technology, check out all of RADVISION’s portfolio here.
