Sectigo is acquiring SiteLock, the provider of website security protection and monitoring.

The transaction also includes Patchman, a Netherlands-based provider of automated content management system (CMS) vulnerability scanning and patching solutions.

Sectigo is expanding its product capabilities, partner network and reach to more than 16 million websites that SiteLock protects. The combined organization establishes a market leadership position in web security.

The SiteLock brand will remain intact and it will operate as a separate business unit within Sectigo.

“This acquisition is a testament of Sectigo’s commitment to partners in providing industry-leading web security products to accelerate mutual growth and profitability,” he said. “Sectigo is positioned to offer partners and their customers actionable real-time threat data to keep them at the forefront of the ever evolving landscape.”

Becoming part of Sectigo is an essential step for both organizations’ mutual growth strategy, Fowler said.

“For years, Sectigo has partnered with SiteLock, and the two have shared a similar vision to deliver innovative security solutions while providing a customer-first experience,” he said. “Our two companies believe this is the right juncture to grow strategically and further invest in developing our technology.”

Benefits for SiteLock Partners

SiteLock partners now have access to numerous benefits within the Sectigo Secure Partner Program, Fowler said. Those include access to the newly launched Connect partner portal and all new training in Sectigo University.

“There is a great deal of synergy between our two organizations, from which our partners will immediately benefit,” he said. “By combining SiteLock and Sectigo products’ strengths, we provide an unmatched, automated website security solution backed by two of the largest brands and experts in the world.”

Sectigo’s most recent acquisitions were:

  • SSL247, the biggest secure sockets layer (SSL) certificate and web security provider in the United Kingdom and France.

  • Xolphin, the largest provider of SSL certificates and digital signatures in the Netherlands.

Tom Serani is SiteLock’s chief channel officer.

“Now, as part of the trusted Sectigo organization, we will continue to develop and deliver best-in-class security solutions that safeguard businesses worldwide,” he said.
