Cohesity Gets First CMO from Veritas, Touts Storage Growth

She will oversee global marketing and continue to drive customer adoption and brand awareness.

PRESS RELEASE —San Jose, Calif. – Jan. 9, 2018 – Cohesity, the leader in hyperconverged secondary storage, today announced the appointment of Lynn Lucas as its inaugural chief marketing officer (CMO). Lynn will oversee global marketing and continue to drive customer adoption and brand awareness as the company expands across the US and international markets. The appointment follows a breakthrough year of milestone Cohesity achievements, including a 600 percent year-over-year increase in revenue.

Lynn brings more than 25 years of tech sector marketing experience. She most recently served as CMO for Veritas Technologies, where sheled its new branding and successful repositioning as a multi-cloud data management company following the company’s separation from Symantec. Prior to Veritas, she held the CMO position at Good Technology. Previously she was VP of Collaboration Solutions Marketing for Cisco Systems.

Lynn will lead the global marketing team to drive customer experience, accelerate the adoption of Cohesity’s solutions, and advocate for the hyperconverged secondary storage market, which has an estimated $60 billion total addressable market.

  • Cohesity’s growth has been fueled by a $90 million Series C funding roundco-led by investors Google Ventures and Sequoia Capital with participation from strategic investors Cisco Investments and HPE, along with venture investors Accel, ARTIS Ventures, Battery Ventures, DHVC, Foundation Capital, Qualcomm Ventures, Trinity Ventures, and Wing Venture Capital.

  • Cohesity christened its new San Jose headquarterson December 11, 2017, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included San Jose Mayor Sam Liccardo and City Councilmember Raul Peralez (District 3). The company tripled the size of its former office to accommodate the doubling of its headcount to more than 300 employees in the past year with room for significant growth in 2018 and beyond.

  • Strong international customer demand drove global expansion to serve the DACH region in Europe, with a new Cohesity DACH team in Germany, headed by Klaus Seidl, and the APAC region, with a new APAC headquarters in Australia.
