The channel and its customers love unified communications, and vendors continue to meet the demand.
One UCaaS provider announced a version of its offering that will meet the evolving needs of the financial services market. Another vendor built upon previous consolidation with new solution. And once again, we covered updates to Microsoft Teams.
SD-WAN also features prominently in our new services recap. A well-known security provider unveiled its SD-WAN offering after completing an acquisition earlier this year. And VMware launched a new virtual network function through a partnership with an interconnection provider.

NetFortris
NetFortris released a UCaaS offering that harnesses a past merger.
The vendor in 2017 merged with unified communications provider Fonality. Now the combined force has unveiled a solution that combines Fonality's UC pedigree with NetFortris' telephony chops. Furthermore, the solution offers more than 100 phone features and caters to all business sizes.

Lumen
CenturyLink's rebranded enterprise unit added Zoom to its unified communications and collaboration (UCC) suite.
Lumen Technologies announced a partnership with the video conferencing provider last month. The agreement combines Lumen's network and security with Zoom's platform. And there's more where that came from.
“Lumen will be adding additional Zoom services in the future and continue to develop deeper integrations, which partners will be able to offer to customers,” Lumen's senior product manager said.

Microsoft
Microsoft announced more than a dozen upcoming Teams integrations.
ServiceNow joined a list of technology partners that will build teams into their platforms. Microsoft also announced that its PowerApps platform will soon open the door for widespread Teams integrations.
The updates came at Microsoft Ignite.

SolarWinds
The
IT management company is helping MSPs to oversee
Cisco Meraki devices.
Partners will be able to monitor and manage Meraki access points, routers and switches. They'll perform the tasks on SolarWinds' N-central dashboards.

Ribbon
Ribbon Communications teamed up with IBM to reach the financial services market with UCaaS.
The vendor is using IBM Cloud for Financial Services platform for its Kandy solution. Ribbon executives said IBM's platform will help to protect the industry's sensitive information during cloud migration.

Cohesity
Customers can cut down on application downtime and data loss with Cohesity's new solution.
SiteContinuity, the
backup provider's new disaster recovery (DR) solution, works against data disruptions caused by ransomware, human error and natural disasters. The platform uses web-scale architecture and journal-based recovery. In addition, SiteContinuity converges backup and disaster recovery functionality to save money.

Broadvoice
The
UCaaS provider built its various B-hive communications tools into the
Salesforce AppExchange platform.
The change allows partners to upsell with existing customers. They can also attract customers that want UCaaS integrated with CRM.
"The integration with B-hive and Salesforce makes it easier for small business customers to upgrade their CRMs and their communication platforms in a single solution," Broadvoice's product marketing manager said.

AT&T/Microsoft
AT&T and
Microsoft are teaming up to make an internet of things (IoT) guardian device.
Since last year the two companies have been operating together in a partnership around 5G, edge computing and the cloud. For instance, AT&T made Microsoft Azure its preferred public cloud provider for non-network applications.

Equinix/VMware
VMware now offers its SD-WAN solution on
Equinix's virtual network services marketplace.
Joint customers now can minimize their hardware investment by spinning up VMware SD-WAN Edge as a virtual network function (VNF). They can also save time and further support cloud-based digital transformation.

Palo Alto Networks
Say hello to the
Palo Alto Networks next-generation SD-WAN offering.
The security company last month unveiled the platform, which combines its secure access service edge (SASE) platform with CloudGenix SD-WAN. Palo Alto bought the pure-play SD-WAN vendor earlier this year.

Avant Communications is now partnering with software-defined networking provider
PacketFabric. The network-as-a-service company helps businesses establish direct, private connectivity from one location to another.

Apple
The Cupertino-based giant unveiled new iPad and iPad air offerings. However, neither work with 5G.
Apple also delayed the launch of its 12th generation iPhone. As expected, the company said it would announce the phone on Oct. 13.
