Axcient Goes Exclusive with Ingram Micro's Cloud Marketplace

Backup and disaster recovery-as-a-service provider Axcient has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with IT distribution giant Ingram Micro (IM), expanding the existing strategic alliance between the two companies. 

The deal calls for Ingram Micro to be the sole distribution partner for the Axcient RaaS solution.  The RaaS provider cited Ingram Micro’s cloud expertise, partner support and Cloud Marketplace as factors behind the decision to do an exclusive partnership.

“Today’s businesses are expected to be always on and always available, which is why antiquated data backup and disaster recovery solutions no longer meet their needs,” said Axcient VP of Business Development Ken Sims, in a prepared statement.

“Ingram Micro Cloud’s reach, expertise and business execution combined with Axcient’s robust cloud platform provide the perfect alliance for tackling today’s $26 billion industry for backup, disaster recovery and business continuity services,” he said.

Since signing with Ingram Micro and the Ingram Micro Cloud Marketplace in 2012, Axcient’s distribution business has grown by 400 percent, the company said in a statement.
