Whaleback Adds Cloud-Managed Voice Services for Mobile Devices

Whaleback Managed Services has added managed voice support services for mobile devices to its CrystalBlue Cloud-based Managed Voice Services solution. The company made the announcement this week at IT Expo East in Miami, Fla.

In order to extend its voice services to smart phones and tablets,Whaleback partnered with CounterPath Corp., which specializes in VoIP products and solutions for desktops and mobile devices. Whaleback is adding CounterPath’s Bria 3 solution to CrystalBlue. Bria 3 is designed specifically for enterprise employees to make VoIP and video calls over IP, send instant messages and transfer files.

According to Whaleback Managed Services CEO and President Karil Reibold, Whaleback chose CounterPath’s Bria 3 solution because it allows users to operate on any tablet, smartphone or laptop. That means the solution is easier to implement into any bring-your-own-device (BYOD) work environment, and ultimately, is designed to help business maximize their productivity.

Whaleback has been quite active in the managed services and cloud services markets. The company in April 2011 expanded its managed voice services channel throughout North America. More recently, Whaleback has steadily pushed beyond VoIP and into a full on managed cloud services offering, and launched a new website and contact center for its enterprise business customers.
