RunMyProcess Launches Cloud Connector for On-Prem Apps

Enterprise platform-as-a-service (PaaS) provider RunMyProcess has launched its Secure Enterprise Connector (SEC), designed to ease the integration of cloud and on-premises applications.

Worth noting is when RunMyProcess talks about cloud applications, it’s talking about those running on its own cloud platform. Regardless, install the RunMyProcess SEC client on the on-premises system — a client based on Google’s open source Secure Data Connector — and it creates a secure tunnel out of the cloud and into the corporate firewall.

HTTPS data can be passed through said tunnel for secure data transfer between SaaS and legacy applications. Part of the appeal, according to RunMyProcess in its press release, is users only need a “basic Linux or Windows server running Java behind the firewall to establish and control the secure connection” to take advantage of the SEC.

For security’s sake, RunMyProcess SEC can only target its own cloud, and can be initiated only by the client that’s already behind the firewall. No outside domains can even attempt to open a tunnel through this method.

Moreover, RunMyProcess works with any on-premises enterprise application that uses REST or SOAP interfaces, and can be used in as many enterprise workflows as required. Moreover, it’s free for workflow builder account customers.

For cloud ISVs and cloud service providers both, giving customers a way to keep their cloud and on-premises applications in sync is a potential boon — just ask Appirio. Moreover, RunMyProcess is no stranger to the channel, partnering up with SADA Systems this past summer.
