Avnet Offers Express Implementation Service for Hitachi Unified Storage Platform

Avnet Technology Solutions announced that it will be the first distributor to offer an express-version of remote implementation services for Hitachi Data Systems‘ partners in the United States and Canada.

According to the press release, Avnet (AVT) Express Implementation Services will offer partners the ability to quickly install, provision, tune and back up their customers’ Hitachi Unified Storage environments through Avnet Services. The idea is to help to increase partners’ professional service opportunities and profit for data storage.

“Businesses of all sizes are struggling to manage and store the enormous amount of data they generate every day while still ensuring that business-critical applications operate efficiently,” said Randy Wright, vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions, Americas, for Hitachi Data Systems, in a prepared statement. “The new services allow our partners to make themselves more valuable to their customers by rapidly optimizing customers’ Hitachi Unified Storage environments to efficiently manage data.”

Avnet positioned the service offerings as “a way to meet the unique needs of solutions providers and VAR partners who utilize Hitachi’s Unified Storage system.” Not only does the service enable new revenue opportunities for channel partners, Avnet said customers also benefit from a new, improved storage environment.

“Avnet understands our vision for Hitachi Unified Storage to meet businesses’ evolving storage needs while simplifying operations with easy-to-use management,” said Chris White, vice president, Americas Strategic Alliances, Hitachi Data Systems in the press release. “Avnet’s new Express Implementation Services will help us and our partners make this a reality by ensuring the proper set up of the solution and the availability of knowledgeable technical resources to answer questions.”

Last August, Avnet Technology Solutions also announced that it had become the first Hitachi TrueNorth Partner to be able to integrate the company’s Unified Compute Platform (UCP) converged solutions in North America. The addition of the express-version of remote implementation services for Hitachi will serve to further increase Avnet’s relationship with HDS—which ultimately benefits its channel partners.
