Global technology firm Lumen21 has launched a multi-level program that enables hardware resellers to offer managed services.

Lumen 21’s new managed services program includes both managed IT and managed security services that are designed “to help resellers attract new clients, revenue and profits by eliminating the need to invest in a cost-prohibitive program of their own.”

The company said the program offers three options (“Refer,” “Resell” and “Rebrand”) to help resellers attract new customers and boost their profits.

“We see this as a win-win-win proposition; the client gets a solution they need, the service provider serves their client and adds profitable revenue to their portfolio [and] Lumen21 expands its position as a channel-friendly provider,” Lumen21 President Eduardo Don told MSPmentor. “We offer the channel the ability to be very unique in a world that has become more difficult to differentiate yourself in your offerings. We provide the channel partners we work with the ability to have the IT, the extra ingredient that makes them stand out above the rest.”

Carol Kinney, Lumen 21’s vice president of sales, added she believes the new managed services program also can help MSPs bolster their customer satisfaction levels.

“Our managed services program helps resellers build stronger client relationships and improve customer service without the risk,” she said in a prepared statement. “Our program grows with the reseller as they invest in their own managed services practice. We can start with a ‘Referral’ relationship, where we do everything, and grow into a ‘Resell’ or ‘Rebrand’ relationship where the reseller would take more ownership of the sales and marketing process.”

How does the managed services program work?

Lumen21 now offers network operations center (NOC) and security operations center (SOC) services that hardware resellers can provide as managed services.

Don noted the managed services are available in conjunction with Lumen 21’s Compliant Cloud Computing solution and can help hardware resellers differentiate themselves from rivals.

“This solution offers the service provider an opportunity to have their clients leverage the cloud and stay compliant with their regulatory needs,” Don said. “We saw this as an opportunity to provide the service provider with an enhanced portfolio that can allow them to serve a wider need for clients, differentiate themselves further and provide a source of recurring revenue for their business.”

The managed services program also reflects Lumen21’s approach to the MSP channel, Don added.

“Our channel approach provides the service provider with a set of services that are not often found via the channel, particularly in the area of the Compliant Cloud offering, or in the security-as-a-service (SECaaS) [offering]. We strive to round out the capabilities of the service provider, give them a fast to market way of offering those services their clients need and an opportunity to add and or expand their existing recurring revenue position,” he said.
