Emdeon Adds Online Self-Service Account Center

Emdeon Business Services has added secure, integrated online account center options to its suite of billing services. The new functionality has been dubbed Emdeon Online Billing Solutions.

Emdeon Online Billing Solutions, powered by Verus, provides a comprehensive and customizable online account center solution that integrates with existing billing systems, while protecting data security, the vendor said. Customer statements can be presented online using a Web browser, giving customers the convenience of online statement viewing and electronic payment options. Users also can be granted direct access to their account information, so they can manage their account preferences, and update or edit accounts with changes to billing data and other information, such as address changes, and credit card or bank account information for payments. Also, the system is accessible, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and reflects current account data, so theres no lagtime.

These solutions will help yield faster collections, help improve cash flow and help reduce billing costs, all with less effort and paperwork, said an Emdeon spokesperson. Providing billing and payment convenience to customers online will help reduce support calls, reduce accounts receivable days and lower collection costs.

The latest addition to its services complements existing capabilities within the Emdeon Business Services portfolio. The vendor offers statement, invoice and customer communication print-and-mail services from two high-volume processing centers with USPS national account status, along with electronic bill payment and presentment, electronic archiving, custom programming, address correction services and variable insert delivery.
