Australian data analytics firm Zetaris is aggressively ramping up its channel program as it expands into the U.S. The vendor’s plan to capture market share include a partner hiring spree throughout North America.

The move into the U.S. also sees Zetaris founder and CEO Vinay Samuel relocate to the Bay Area of California.

“We had to be here,” he said.

Samuel points to Zetaris’ relevance to the data management space, interest from potential customers and the size of the market.

“We’ve had strong inbound interest in our product and already have customers in the U.S.,” he said.

The CEO says that channel partners are crucial to the organization’s long-term goals and success. The company already has U.S. agreements with the likes of IBM, EY, Microsoft and Essentia.

Now, he said, Zetaris is targeting more systems integrators and technology partners “that want to bring positive disruptive innovation to customers doing data analytics projects.”

“As a [systems integrator], our product enables fast project initiation and deeper value for end user customers,” said Samuel. “The SI can use our innovative Networked Data Platform to create data products and usage experience that is simply not possible today for their customers. For tech alliance partners who have a tool or application that needs access to data within an organization or across the network, we make data access simple, fast and extremely low-cost.”

Private Funding for Expansion

Zetaris’ cloud data fabric technology provides a single API for instantly connecting and analyzing data, whether on-premises or in the cloud. Its key differentiator from other data analytics solutions, it claims, is that it can build governed, federated queries with in-built security.

Zetaris connects to existing data sources without moving, ingesting or duplicating data. While other data aggregators take a data lake approach, Zetaris’ allows users to only integrate specific data points. They don’t require an organization to collect or house all data. This, it says, speeds up time-to-insight, eliminates data redundancy and creates a single, unified view of a customer’s data.

Zetaris’ Networked Data connects to disparate data sources, ingesting metadata to create a virtual schema. This, it says, reinforces data security, and optimizes and accelerates query performance.

The U.S. expansion is being funded by a Series A2 round of $32 million. Samuel said the company has “strong revenue for growth.”

Before Zetaris, Samuel lead disruptive data analytics companies such as Netezza, Greenplum, Vertica, and Gridmatics in Asia.
