AWS Simplifies MAP, Hires Capgemini Vet in Partner Leadership Role

AWS has consolidated several migration funding programs into MAP.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Tuesday unveiled changes to its Migration Acceleration Program (MAP) and a new partner funding tool. MAP helps fund small and large migrations to AWS across different workloads.

In addition, AWS has hired Camillo Speroni, previously Capgemini‘s executive vice president, as the director of partner, initiatives and go-to-market (GTM). He reports to Todd Weatherby, AWS’s vice president of global services.

“I am passionate about change,” Speroni wrote on LinkedIn.. “Innovation equals change and to innovate you need a customer in need and someone focused on building this innovation on their behalf. I have joined AWS, the builders company where customers are always at the center of every discussion and decisions to innovate while constantly looking at their long-term benefit.”

An AWS spokesperson said Speroni will be available for comment at a later date.

Consolidated Funding Programs

AWS has consolidated several migration funding programs into MAP. Partners can demonstrate their understanding of MAP, and earn a digital training and certification badge through the 2022 AWS Migration Ambassador Foundations (Business).

The funding program updates are now in effect.

AWS partners are building successful migration and modernization practices to help customers with these workloads. Partners are leveraging AWS partner funding programs to sell more projects and grow their AWS businesses. This helps customers make the decision to move to AWS. Moreover, it builds confidence while planning for their move to the cloud. It also offsets the partner’s migration and modernization project services cost for the customer.

The single migration funding program makes it easier for partners to adopt and go to market. Additionally, partner proof of concept (PoC) funding is available for PoC projects, and ISV workload migration funding is available for repeatable ISV migrations to AWS.

Additional Partner Benefits

There are additional benefits within the AWS Partner Paths framework for partners who have enrolled in an AWS workload or use case competency program or service delivery program.

Moreover, AWS has designed new and enhanced tools to serve as the AWS partner funding self-service portal. It can accelerate partners’ business through build, market and sell funding motions for cash and credit.

After the funding is pre-approved, AWS partners can leverage the portal to claim their cash benefits or redeem credit benefits. The portal helps partners increase their funding adoption and utilization by allowing them to focus on executing AWS-funded activities.

Pradeep Yadlapati is vice president of cloud ecosystem at Infosys.

“With the launch of new MAP and simplified self-service mechanism to track all requests in one consolidated view, it’s easier than ever to orchestrate, amplify and scale on behalf of the customer,” he said. “It will help Infosys provide increased visibility, awareness and consistent process across the board.”
