Peer Groups: Autotask, 1nService Make Move
As I mentioned yesterday, MSP-centric software companies are getting very cozy with peer groups (which typically include VARs and MSPs). Less than 24 hours after that blog post, Autotask has announced a relationship with 1nService, an international group of integrators that represent $1.5 billion in combined revenues. I’m on a flight at the moment (cleared for landing…) but will offer more perspectives later today.
Autotask’s Southwest (US) Peer group was actually held today at the University Club of Pasadena. I had registered amp; planned to attend myself, but alas, another meeting took precedence. I’m hoping they post some content for those of us who couldn’t attend.

I attended (presented, paid for lunch or some other vendor word for “sponsored”) the event today and it was fantastic. Those of you familiar with Mark Crall and his body of work know how passionate he is about getting the community component to things and taking it away from sales and marketing where it’s measured, goaled, massaged and really not a community but a marketing outlet.
Autotask thing was pretty different. Glad I got to be a part of it. As a vendor, and someone that has spent a lot of money to make the PSA a central point of service management, the opportunity to sit and talk to the partners and make their PSA even more effective in managing their solution is something that benefits everyone. Kudos to Autotask for recognizing that as a key value/benefit to it’s solution stack.
As for the specifics, SMBTN was there, Ingram Micro, Zenith Infotech and Travis from MSP Integrations were all there mingling with the attendees.

Niv, Vlad: Thanks for filling in the blanks. My efforts to update this blog entry didn’t materialize. Travel, travel. Back online later today with 7 blog entries I didn’t write.
