Accenture Expands Cloud First Capabilities Through Tenbu Acquisition

  • Written by Edward Gately
  • August 1, 2022
This is Accenture's latest of numerous acquisitions in Latin America.

Accenture has acquired Tenbu, a cloud data firm that provides solutions for intelligent decision making and planning. It does so through areas such as analytics, big data and machine learning (ML).

The acquisition expands Accenture’s Cloud First capabilities through Latin America and globally. In fall 2020, Accenture announced the formation of Accenture Cloud First with a $3 billion investment over three years. It helps clients across all industries to become cloud-first businesses and accelerate their digital transformation for greater value.

Accenture didn’t disclose terms of the acquisition.

Tenbu is the 11th acquisition with headquarters in Latin America that Accenture has made in the past five years. That includes Organize Cloud Labs in Brazil, as well as Wolox and Ergo in Argentina, among others.

Keep up with the latest channel-impacting mergers and acquisitions in our M&A roundup.

Tenbu’s team of 170 data specialists will join the Accenture Cloud First data and artificial intelligence (AI) team.

More Resources for Accenture Partners

Paulo Ossamu leads Accenture Technology in Latin America.

“The Tenbu team brings vast data and AI specialists to Accenture, which in turn provides more resources for our partners to team up with Accenture for more strategic work together for our mutual clients,” he said. “Adding the Tenbu team will expand our global capabilities to help partners find more opportunities to help companies drive new services, growth and resilience – using data from across the cloud continuum for intelligent decision-making.”

The Tenbu acquisition will help Accenture and its partners maintain their leadership position, Ossamu said.

“Adding Tenbu allows Accenture and our partners to scale our capabilities to better serve clients and respond to market demand,” he said. “Specifically, adding Tenbu’s cloud and data specialists with more than 150 certifications means that Accenture can provide more skilled cloud resources to work with our partners to guide clients through their entire cloud data journey utilizing talent, technology and data to drive business transformation.”

Tenbu Partners Joining Accenture’s Ecosystem

Tenbu’s partners will join Accenture’s vast ecosystem, giving Tenbu’s partners access to Accenture’s far-reaching partnerships, Ossamu said.

“Our transition journey will be carefully planned to ensure there is no disruption or surprises with employees, clients and the market,” he said. “The two companies’ partner ecosystems and our programs will be integrated. Partners can expect the Tenbu brand is to face sunset between six to 12 months post-acquisition. Until then, it will remain as Tenbu – Part of Accenture.”

Carlos Pinto is Tenbu’s CEO.

“Joining the Accenture Cloud First team will enable us to bring our specialized skills to help clients make smart, well-informed decisions that generate value,” he said. “It’s also a massive growth opportunity for our people to be integrated with Accenture Cloud First and to team up on business opportunities across the Accenture business.”
