Verismic Targets MSPs with Cloud-based, Multitenant IT Management Suite

Verismic has extended its power monitoring and management platform to all of IT, launching Cloud Management Suite. The company is targeting managed services providers (MSPs), and promoting the suite's agentless, cloud-based delivery as a cost saver for IT services providers.

Power management tool provider Verismic has updated its platform to offer remote monitoring and management and is pitching it to managed services providers (MSPs). The company launched Cloud Management Suite earlier this week, calling it the first and only endpoint device management software that requires no software agent on end-user devices. Here are the details.

Verismic CEO Ashley Leonard told MSPmentor that the platform is multitenant and can be white labeled under the MSP’s own brand. He said that the suite will go up against incumbents such as Kaseya in the MSP market, but that it differentiates itself from other IT management platforms through its use of agentless end device technology.

Designed to be easier and less expensive

Leonard told me that the combination of the cloud-based platform and the agentless end-device setup means that the system is easier (and less expensive) for MSPs to deploy and maintain.

MSPs do need to deploy a piece of software at the customer site on any PC, and that software does the monitoring and management for all the end points on the customer network. (The company recommends putting the software on a couple of machines, just for redundancy purposes.)

“MSPs have to implement a management tool and then maintain it to be effective,” Leonard said. “For an MSP, that’s a direct expense for them. You have to get one of your consultants to figure out how to deploy to all the end points. You need agents. You need to map processes. You need to make sure the agents are maintained. We felt there had to be a better way to do this by creating an agentless product and delivering it from the cloud.”

Verismic Cloud Management Suite capabiltities

The Verismic Cloud Management Suite includes the following functions:

  • Inventory management of hardware and software

  • End point monitoring

  • Network monitoring

  • Software distribution and patch management

  • Power management

  • Customizable dashboards

  • Software license tracking

  • A scripting engine to help automate IT tasks and provide reports and custom IT reports.

Leonard told me the company will be adding mobile device management capabilities shortly. And while the system does not require Active Directory, it is Active Directory aware.

Platform support

The initial release is Windows-based, but Mac support is coming “shortly afterwards” and then in the summer mobile devices with support for iOS, Android and Microsoft, Leonard said.

Pricing

He also told me that the offering is competitively priced with other RMM and IT service management offerings that MSPs use. It will initially be priced on a per device licensing model, and Leonard anticipates to switching that to a per user pricing model as more endpoint platforms are supported, with volume discounts available.

Target market

The company spent much of April briefing its existing MSP partners who have used its power management platform – mostly those with a few thousand endpoints under management — and will focus on bringing them to the total IT management platform. The company’s customers also include some telecom providers who will be a target for the new platform as well. The target market will be companies supporting between 30 and 3,000 endpoints, Leonard told me.
