VMware CEO Paul Maritz: Leaving for Cloud Foundry?

  • Written by The VAR Guy 1
  • July 16, 2012
VMware CEO Paul Maritz apparently will no longer lead the virtualization company.

VMware CEO Paul Maritz apparently will no longer lead the virtualization company. Maritz’s potential destination: Perhaps the CEO slot at Cloud Foundry, which VMware (NYSE: VMW) may spin off as its own platform as a service (PaaS) cloud company. The potential VMware changes come as Microsoft prepares Windows Server 2012 and Hyper-V upgrades to counter VMware’s vSphere platform.

The chatter so far:

  • EMC’s Pat Gelsinger is set to replace Maritz as VMware CEO, CRN reported.
  • Plus, VMware is considering the Cloud Foundry spin-off, GigaOm reported.
  • Some pundits are speculating that Maritz will therefore lead Cloud Foundry, though Tod Nielsen and Mark Lucovsky apparently are in the running, too, GigaOm reported.

VMware needs to manage the alleged management and business changes carefully. Microsoft last week announced the Switch to Hyper-V campaign and has trained roughly 40 channel partners to help migrate VMware customers to Windows Server and Hyper-V. Plus, some Microsoft partners believe Windows Server 2012 (set for September launch) plus Hyper-V and System Center have finally caught up with VMware’s technical capabilities.

On the PaaS front, VMware Cloud Foundry celebrated its first birthday in April 2012 — announcing a range of new partner and customer milestones.

The VAR Guy could not reach VMware this evening about Maritz’s status as CEO and VMware’s ownership of Cloud Foundry. VMware is set to announce Q2 results on July 23. If changes are afoot, it’s safe to expect plenty of details at that time.

Sierra! Kudos to you for coming back and apologizing! Many thanks. I actually do wish you hadn felt the requirement to justify it but hey, I will be the Queen of Justification myself, well, i grok that. 🙂

To you personally and Golf, try this analogy:

Can recall the old Show on tv “Cheers”? Let if you have a burning prefer to understand the alcohol Christian Louboutin Outlet Online content in gin olives. The truth is the hollister sale sign “Bar” and walk in if if north face uk someone would know the response, that they michael kors outlet online would.

So you walk in and say, “Hey! What the alcohol content in Christian Louboutin Outlet gin olives?” Carla quips that in case you’d like to know, you should be ordering some yourself. Sam might say, “Hey, the way? Louis Vuitton Outlet Stay.” Diane would launch to a long north face outlet drawnout good gin olives, Norm would try and cadge you into buying him a drink, Cliff would tell everyone that gin olives certainly are a conspiracy along with the two guys for the corner table would start joking and giggling regarding the time a gin olive fell into Diane bra and she or he couldn obtain it out.

This is exactly what happened here. Golf, you asked a Christian Louboutin shoes matter which was very vague and many posters cracked with that after which took for making some inside jokes. Absolutely nobody was seeking to bully you or even be rude to you. When you clarified, some people jumped into help. Meanwhile, a conversation cranked up which have everything related to other situations and posters and extremely nothing together with you personally.

Hope you hang around but the Newbie Board isn for all. You will discover boards that could be more suited to suit your needs, that are so very polite, everyone falls over themselves trying to never hurt anyone wittle feelings. I call those the Louis Vuitton bags “Church Boards”.

This board is much more like the 12 step groups the thing is inside the movies. Or even Christian Louboutin sale about to bootcamp. A number of people is going to be Michael Kors Outlet sweet and nice, some people will probably be abrupt. Personally, I am able to manage Church Boards, they may be so boring and earnest. I prefer boards in this way, that you get all sorts of various answers and also a whole lotta wisdom together with it.

Thanks for the analogy while using cast hollister uk from Cheers. I think it forced me to be understand what happened Louis Vuitton Factory Outlet more than anything else Someone said within the thread.

In addition, i apologize for you as well as people that think I had been attempting to justify my post with my explanation in the agonizing day I had been having. I did started to simply say, “I’m so sorry.” On the other hand felt so awful in what I Louis Vuitton Outlet had done those words didn’t appear like enough; I didnt think people would believe I truly am sorry, since I’m michael kors outlet new here and in addition they http://www.alternateuk.com/ don’t know me. (This is exactly why I hoped they would read several of my other 100+ posts, through which I have attemptedto be uplifting and inspiring.)

So then I started to say, “I’m sorry, I don determine what happened, I certainly not like that” but thought a number of the posters would scoff and say, “Then why are you like that today??” The solution (that’s absolutely true but would satisfy no-one) is, “I have no idea because that basically isn me.” The “rationalization” I offered was the one thing I possibly could visualize that forced me to act differently than I normally do. I became just trying to avoid/answer the secondary question, to not justify the behaviour.

There IS no justification, i do recognize that. I apologized in a way that I assumed will take several of the hurt away, at least respond to your questions asked as to the reasons I’d say this. Only was wrong by doing this, I’m sorry for your, too.
