Sophos and Virtual Computer Partner For Virtual Protection
Sophos and Virtual Computer are working together to create a secure virtual desktop environments. The move comes as Virtual Computer looks to provide protection to their NxTop users. Here are the details…
Quick refresher: NxTop (which we’ve discussed before) is Virtual Computer’s crown jewel; it enables desktop IT admins to create secure endpoints for laptops, desktops, VDI and/or cloud computing. You’d imagine making that secure endpoint as secure as possible is important. So, if you’re a Virtual Computer NxTop customers, you can now select Sophos Anti-Virus profiles to protect your virtual environment, malware, and any other bad mojo out there.
The twist is Sophos’s claim that this differs from “traditional” VM security, since NxTop preserves Sophos updates each time a session is stopped and started, instead of needed to re-process the update. Sophos claims that they worked with Virtual Computer for a year on this solution.
And for the channel? It seems like the blanket “more value” line applies here. Plenty of businesses are mulling virtualization projects but they’re unsure how to safeguard VDI solutions. Perhaps Virtual Computer and Sophos can help to address that.
