NaviSite Introduces iPad NaviCloud Support
The iPad is getting more play in the workplace now that NaviSite is jumping on board. NaviSite specializes in cloud services, so it may come as no surprise they have an affinity for the device. Read on for NaviSite’s new iPad support for management anywhere, anytime…
For the unacquainted, NaviSite provides enterprise level cloud hosting and managed applications and services with a focus on outsourcing IT infrastructures. Mobility while managing those infrastructures seems like a logical step when IT is off-site.
Initially, that was provided by NaviSite’s NaviCloud AppCenter management console. But now it’s iPad compatible, which means that anyone in the field or on the go can use the iPad as a “portable window” to manage cloud operations and resources. NaviSite is set to show off their iPad support at the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo this October 2010.
AppCenter, by itself, is designed to be a web-based console for managing the deployed cloud resources, with an eye on intuitive ease of use. Adapting it to the iPad for NaviSite seems like a good plan, and the right device, since NaviSite claims their focus is on “drop-down menus and simple point and click operations” boasting that complex configuration and cloning resources have been made easy through these methods.
