HP Acquires Stratavia For Hybrid IT Environments
Hewlett-Packard is multi-tasking in the acquisition market. Even as HP battles Dell to potentially acquire 3Par, HP has also found the time to purchase Stratavia, a privately-held database and application automation company. Here’s the details…
HP has kept financial terms of the acquisition under wraps, but Stratavia’s deployment, configuration, and other management tools for enterprise databases will move into Hewlett-Packard’s software business. There’s also support for on-premise and off-premise physical and virtual environments.
According to HP:
“HP clients will now have a comprehensive application automation solution that bridges the gap between application development and operational teams. The solution will support all aspects of the application life cycle, from modeling an application and releasing it into production, to ongoing management and the underlying infrastructure.”
Stratavia also will work its way into the HP Cloud Service Automation, with simplification and automatic deployment of databases, HP claims.
