Arrow Electronics and HiveIO, the provider of software-defined infrastructure solutions, have expanded their partnership. The new agreement, which comes one year after Arrow included HiveIO technology in its U.K. portfolio, allows Arrow to offer Hive Fabric to partners in the U.S. and Canada.

HiveIO, founded in 2015, offers Hive Fabric — a virtualization solution that offers virtual desktops, virtual servers and software-defined storage delivered in a single installation.

“Building off the success from our first Arrow agreement, we’re excited to bring Hive Fabric capabilities to the growing North American market,” said Dan Newton, CEO of HiveIO. “Our continued collaboration with Arrow, particularly in health care and education, will drive value for our channel customers by delivering an AI-ready solution that allows IT teams to quickly deploy virtual desktops, virtual servers, and software-defined storage, while reducing downtime and improving performance.”

The partnership also drives value for partners by helping customers improve performance and eliminating the need for costly specialists, enabling IT teams to focus on business ROI versus answering run-of-the-mill IT tickets, according to Arrow.

Hive Fabric installs on any x86 commodity infrastructure. The solution uses AI and machine learning (ML) to reduce complexity while providing scalability for workloads. Hive Fabric is a full infrastructure stack, from hypervisor to endpoint, delivered by a single vendor and managed through a single pane of glass, according to HiveIO.

The vendor recently launched Hive Fabric Community Edition (CE), a free, year-long trial of its offer for potential customers.
