Software-defined WAN solutions developer Talari unveiled a host of new physical and virtual appliances designed to help enterprise customers better manage their networks.

Software-defined WAN solutions developer Talari Networks unveiled a host of new physical and virtual appliances designed to help enterprise customers better manage their networks.
Talari is also rolling out an update for its Adaptive Private Networking (APN) operating system, which includes additional deployment options for enterprises such as an optical interface, virtual appliances and new cloud capabilities.
“Rather than force our customers to fit within a proscribed network architecture or vendor-defined deployment model, Talari’s goal is to provide a comprehensive solution that allows companies with a range of network architectures and deployment models to take advantage of the benefits of SD-WAN,” said Emerick Woods, president and CEO of Talari Networks, in a statement. “This release increases our target market opportunity and will help us maintain and extend our current lead in the SD-WAN market.”
Straight from the press release, the new offerings being announced include:
Talari Virtual Appliance VT500 – a virtual software-only appliance that runs on VMware vSphere, which acts as an edge appliance to allow users to install SD WAN capabilities either on commoditized hardware or embedded in a service offering from another vendor or service provider.
Talari Appliance T5200 – includes support for 10Gig fiber-optic interfaces to expand the deployment scale of data centers. The T5200 can double as a network controller for a Talari SD-WAN with included high availability options such as fail-to-glass ports (their term, not ours) and geographic redundancy, among others.
Talari APN 4.4 – Version 4.4 includes new capabilities to support cloud adoption, such as the ability for users to move their SD-WAN controller to the cloud. The latest version of APN also includes additional features for cloud traffic control so users have more granular control over where SaaS and Internet traffic enters and exits the WAN edge. An increased security profile of SD-WAN deployments and the optional use of third-party certified FIPs-compliant IPsec tunnels as the virtual WAN connection is included as well.
The new solutions are available immediately either directly from Talari or via the company’s channel partner ecosystem. Talari APN 4.4 is available for free for existing users.
Interested customers can check out the new solutions in person next week during VMworld 2015 in San Francisco.
