TPx, the managed services and connectivity provider, on Tuesday released its new managed security suite, including managed firewall, endpoint and backup/disaster recovery services.

The company opened its security operations center (SOC) in St. Louis last summer with this offering in mind. During the past year it has been field testing these services in real-work customer environments. They now are available nationally.

TPx’s Jared Martin

Jared Martin, TPx’s vice president of MSx managed services, tells Channel Partners for several years his company was leveraging a white-labeled solution to provide managed firewall services to its customers.

“We felt it was far more powerful to build the suite out ourselves and provide a richer, deeper experience to our customers and partners,” he said. “For partners, we have heard many tell us that security is an area they want to get into but either have a hard time making the pivot or are having difficulty finding a trusted partner. TPx’s managed security suite, under our managed IT umbrella, enables partners to get into this business with relative ease. To avoid competing with themselves, we offer multiple service levels that vary in how hands on TPx is. This enables partners to either manage some aspects themselves while leveraging TPx’s security infrastructure … or turn over management completely to TPx’s experienced cybersecurity experts.”

Offering a comprehensive solution is “much easier for partners when leveraging TPx, Martin said.

“Finding and retaining cybersecurity talent is difficult in today’s world,” he said. “With TPx by our partners’ sides, they don’t have to worry about that, nor do their customers. We have them completely covered and are always seeking out the best talent available to protect our customer’s networks. Further, TPx has a robust offer that is backed by the leading vendors in the security industry. These services absolutely give TPx and our partners a competitive edge — by combining comprehensive managed IT, managed voice and managed-access services, TPx can provide the full suite of services at very competitive pricing to the mid-market and enterprises alike in a way that our competition cannot.”

Any regulated vertical should be top of mind for partners to focus on as they have mandated security requirements they have to meet, Martin said.

“This is not a nice-to-do,” said Ross Spero, TPx’s director of product management. “Sixty percent of small companies go out of business within six months of an attack. Businesses know they should take security and business continuity seriously, but limited budgets and a shortage of qualified security experts make that easier said than done. TPx’s team of top security experts, armed with the most advanced technology and two top-of-the-line SOCs, lets them put their full focus on making their businesses thrive.”
