Tech Data has added robotic process automation (RPA) to its portfolio via a new partnership with Automation Anywhere.

Tech Data will deliver Automation Anywhere’s flagship product, Automation Anywhere Enterprise, geared to enterprises looking to deploy a digital workforce composed of software bots that complete business processes end to end through an RPA, with elements such as natural-language processing and reading unstructured data.

Colin Blair, Tech Data’s vice president of analytics and IoT solutions for the Americas, tells Channel Partners that adding RPA to his company’s solution stack enables its partners to pursue new verticals and industries of all sizes while bringing a “highly demanded and lucrative solution” to their current customer base.

“Automation Anywhere is the RPA market leader in banking/finance, high tech and telecom, and health-care markets,” he said. “RPA solutions from Automation Anywhere can enhance policy administration process times, reduce cycle time and produce quality and error-free electronic medical records (EMR) data, or streamline manual processes for extracting and uploading customer data and is applicable across industries.”

Automation Anywhere provides automation technology to financial services, insurance, health care, technology, manufacturing, telecom and logistics companies globally. Earlier this month, the company released its Community Edition, its offering for small businesses, developers and students.

“RPA is a great complementary solution for those partners who currently sell solutions in the big-data analytics, cloud, IoT and business process management markets,” Blair said. “As these markets continue improving front-end and back-end production efficiencies, we see RPA as a critical augmentation to building a highly efficient and reliable workforce for any company. By offloading typical repetitive rule-based manual tasks, worker productivity can now focus on other high-valued work such as customer assistance and competitive strategic initiatives.”

RPA is a new technology focus poised to “revolutionize companies by deploying a digital workforce to help streamline business, improve quality of work and allow for a significant return on investment,” according to Tech Data.

Along with the initial purchase and annual subscription model, Tech Data’s partners can engage in ongoing consultations, professional services and value sales, Blair said.

“Automation Anywhere is the only RPA vendor that offers RPA plus cognitive plus analytics for structured and unstructured data, as well as attended and unattended automation,” he said. “It also integrates with leading cloud platforms for elastic scaling.”

“We’re looking forward to leveraging Tech Data’s considerable expertise in strategically delivering solutions to the channel ecosystem,” said Kristen Diamond, Automation Anywhere’s senior director of marketing. “Our Automation Anywhere channel-partner team has worked with companies of all sizes and across a multitude of segments – including those in financial services, business process outsourcing, health care, technology, insurance and more – and our platform is powerful enough to automate tasks of any complexity, while being user-friendly enough for anyone to use.”
