Impinj, a provider of UHF radio frequency identification (RFID) services, has rolled out its new partner program for companies that provide expertise and services to design, plan and deploy Internet of Things (IoT) offerings.

Also known as RAIN RFID, UHF RFiD is a wireless technology system that connects billions of everyday items to the internet, allowing businesses and consumers to identify, locate, authenticate and engage each item. The partner program is designed for resellers of the Impinj platform, and includes tiered levels of engagement and increased collaboration with the company on joint sales, training and support.

Jeff Dossett, Impinj’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, tells Channel Partners his company built the program to provide a level of support and resources to best suit a range of partners.

“The program is designed to start by educating partners as they expand their experience with RAIN RFID, engage on joint sales and marketing activities to build business, and help ensure the success of partners as they continue to develop innovative solutions,” he said. “Our goal is to support a rich community of partners who engage – and innovate – with Impinj.”

The program offers three levels of engagement: gold, silver and bronze. The tiers offer a range of benefits such as product and service discount structures, demo programs, sales strategy support, joint marketing activities, training and access to the Impinj partner portal.

Impinj works with a wide variety of partners, from VARs to RAIN RFID tagging partners, and software companies that integrate data from the the company’s platform into business applications, Dossett said.

“We also work with organizations offering consulting and advice for businesses [that] are building innovative IoT applications,” he said. “Impinj channel partners play a critical role in our overall strategy for market penetration, share leadership and cultivating a satisfied base of customers. Working closely with our partners helps both our partners succeed and also bring insights for our product and market development. “

Impinj’s integrated RAIN RFID platform spans endpoints, connectivity and software.

“Impinj’s vision is to deliver digital life for everyday items such as apparel, medical supplies, luggage, automobile parts, and more — extending the reach of the internet by a factor of 1,000,” said Chris Diorio, Impinj’s CEO.
