Intermec Buys Enterprise Mobile for Lifecycle Management
Intermec, which specializes in rugged mobility solutions, has scooped up Enterprise Mobile, provider of lifecycle services for mobile devices. Seems like a perfect match, right? Apparently, Enterprise Mobile’s services address a number of needed key areas for mobility initiatives. Read on for the details …
According to Intermec’s release, Enterprise Mobile’s lifecycle services “address every phase and requirement of mobility initiatives including mobile device deployment, user training, help desk support, replacement and repair, refresh and recycling/end-of-life.”
With Enterprise Mobile’s prowess, Intermec hopes to also acquire better services that can reduce strain on IT resources and help customers manage multiple platforms more easily. Additionally, Intermec aims to push its rugged devices into nontraditional or non-rugged use cases such as health care. The company also sees this acquisition as a continuation of the promise to its PartnerNet channel partners for new and expanded offerings.
Here at The VAR Guy, we see this acquisition as affirmation of mobile devices’ ubiquity in the marketplace and their increasing usefulness as traditional desktop PCs take a back seat.
