How to Get Personal With Your BDR Sales Team
Let's take a look at data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) at the personal level, shall we? — instead of focusing on the technical aspect of it.
Take a look at each member of your sales team — go ahead. Think about how much value each person adds to your business. Are they dedicated? Do they go above and beyond? What makes them stand out?
Ask yourself these questions, but more importantly, ask each one of your employees these questions. Your opinion of how they feel may be different than you think, so ask — don't be afraid.
They have to want it as bad as you. They must have the desire to make the sale, not just because it's their job. Educate those who want to be educated and strive to learn more.
Each sales team is different because you and your business are different. You value certain qualities more than others. You have different levels of expectations than some of your competitors. You're looking for different people.
Take time out of your schedule every week to get to know each member in your team. Understand who they are on a personal level. Avoid talking about work (you do enough of that already).
Focus on your BDR sale team on a personal level. Keep their work environment happy, make them want to go to work. You'll begin to see results, no matter how big or small your team may be. Make a difference.
Always remember: Invest your time and money into your team, and they'll invest in you.
