Data backup and disaster recovery (BDR) and business continuty (BC) solutions vendor Datto is rolling out a new partner program to provide its partners with larger benefits and rewards, regardless of partner size.
The Datto Partner Plus Program was designed by the channel-only vendor to better educate managed services providers (MSPs) on sales and marketing while offering extended support benefits, the company stated on its website.
The new partner program is based solely on the amount of provisioned space in the Datto Cloud. "The provisioned space is cumulative for each of your customers, so the more customers you have utilizing Datto’s Cloud, the faster you move up in tiers!" Datto noted in its partner program brochure.
With the new program, Datto divides partners into four tiers: registered, authorized, premier and elite. As partners move up in tiers, they're given more benefits to leverage. These benefits range from simple partner portal access to marketing assistance with customized collateral.
Datto Partner Development Manager Christine Gassman spoke with MSPmentor yesterday and told us that the new partner program works well for partners because higher tiers are now more attainable for smaller partners.
"Many partner programs are structured in a way that makes it difficult for smaller partners to advance to a higher tier," she said. "As a channel only company it was important for us to have a program that makes it really easy for partners to bump up in the tiers and reap more benefits," adding that the initial response from partners has been "fantastic."
Partners looking to speak with Datto quarterly on business planning can now do so, Gassman said, pointing out that partners will learn about new promotions and ways to move up to the next tier level by leveraging Datto's sales and marketing teams.
Gassman said Datto provided partners with a first look this week at the new program being offered.
