WorldGate, GlobalTouch Purchase Ojo Videophones

WorldGate Communications Inc., a provider of personal videophones, and GlobalTouch Telecom, a provider of proprietary, vertically integrated VoIP platforms, on Thursday announced they have entered into a resale and supply agreement for the purchase of WorldGates Ojo and Ojo Shadow personal videophones. The companies said they plan to work together to combine efforts on strategic business opportunities for existing and prospective customers.

We have been evaluating Ojo for some time and are confident its style and superior performance make it a great product to complement our integrated platform for our customer base, partners and various distribution channels, said Gregory O. Welch, CEO at GlobalTouch Telecom. We believe this is a product which will help us to attract new customers as well as satisfy our existing ones, as the addition of this exceptionally high-quality video expands our existing video application offering, and truly differentiate our services.”

Ojo features an intuitive display that facilitates realistic, face-to-face, personal communications experiences over DSL and cable broadband networks, according to the company.

GlobalTouch provides VoIP businesses with a fully integrated, ASP platform that delivers VoIP services, including hosted IP PBX with ACD, IP fax, softphone and all network services (DIDs, LNP, 911). GlobalTouch said it enables CLECs, resellers, ISPs and MSO cable providers to create a turnkey VoIP service offering in less than 60 days.
