Vu Allies with Vidtel for Multivendor Video Conferencing

Vu TelePresence Inc. announced Tuesday that has partnered with Vidtel to enable customers using its video endpoint to connect with users of other video conferencing solutions, such as Polycom or Cisco or even Skype and GoogleTalk.

Under the agreement, users of Vu endpoints, including the Vu TelePresene Pro, can use the Vidtel MeetMe services to place and participate in multiparty video conferences with business-grade (SIP, H.323) and consumer-grade (Skype, Google) video endpoints. The service enables conferences with  a mix of solutions, board room systems, executive video systems, PCs/Macs, tablets and smartphones.

The Vidtel service is offered as a monthly subscription fee or on a per-minute basis.

Vu TelePresence Pro video endpoint incorporates life-size displays, HD video, high-quality sound with low bandwidth usage and interoperability with third-party systems.
