Vonage is layering email into its other communications channels through a new partnership with Sendinblue, providing a more comprehensive business communications platform.

The partnership will give customers an email communications offering via Vonage’s Nexmo API platform. In addition, Nexmo now is the sole texting provider for Sendinblue.

Mark Summerson, Vonage‘s vice president of global channels, tells Channel Partners that customer experience is rapidly becoming the differentiating factor for today’s brands.

“Customers want more contextual conversations when they interact with brands from which they buy products and services,” he said. “A key part of that is the ability to easily continue conversations using different communication channels, according to customer choice. By partnering with Sendinblue, Vonage is able to provide yet another communications channel to those already on the Nexmo API platform. Email is no longer a siloed communication channel, but one of many within a rich set of channels. Customers and partners alike will now have more options when building innovative customer experiences based on the Nexmo platform.”

Sendinblue provides marketing and sales tools compatible with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Its platform serves 160 countries, and sends 40 million emails daily and 5 million text messages monthly.

“We’ve seen an increased demand for email as a messaging channel,” Summerson said. “At the same time, the market is consolidating to provide one single platform of choice. With this partnership, Nexmo … will now be equipped to deliver rich email communications offerings to customers, strengthening Vonage’s position as an all-in-one platform for programmable business communications and speaking to our strategy of augmenting the platform through partners.”

“This is a new step for Sendinblue,” said Armand Thieberge, Sendinblue’s CEO and co-founder. “Our partnership will help companies worldwide with the most efficient digital marketing tools, while accelerating Sendinblue’s growth in the global market.”
