Verizon Business Certifies ADTRAN for European VoIP Services

Verizon Business (VZ) has certified the ADTRAN (ADTN) NetVanta 6310 IP Business Gateway for deployment with the company’s Verizon IP Integrated Access solution in Europe and the United States. This is the first certification of an ADTRAN solution for Verizon in the European market and brings a new level of flexibility and choice for Verizon Business’ multinational customers looking to implement VoIP communications.

“ADTRAN brings real choice to customers of our European VoIP integrated access solution,” said Stuart Curzon, group vice president for international sales Verizon Business EMEA. “It offers a cost-effective way for small- to medium-sized businesses and enterprises to migrate to VoIP at their own pace.”

Verizon IP Integrated Access is currently available in the United States and 10 European countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

In related news, Verizon Business announced its Burstable Enterprise Shared Trunks (BEST) feature is now available in Europe, enabling customers to enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of their IP networks by allowing capacity to be allocated on demand to support business needs across customers’ VoIP locations.

The BEST feature, available with selected Verizon voice-over-Internet protocol (VoIP) services, lets enterprises use idle trunk – or communication line – capacity from one location to support an increase in traffic elsewhere. Organizations are therefore able to optimize their IP network utilization and achieve cost efficiencies, the company said.

The BEST feature is available with Verizon Hosted IP Centrex, Verizon Integrated Access and Verizon IP Trunking. The offering is available immediately in the same 10 European countries as Verizon IP Integrate Access, as well as in the United States. Availability in the Asia-Pacific region will commence late next year.
