Diversity Panel at CP Expo 2018

Few companies set out to be biased in their hiring practices; nonetheless, it happens.

The tech industry – including the channel – has made strides to make up ground on other sectors in this regard, but still falls behind when it comes to diversifying its workforce. A recent CompTIA study shows companies think they’re doing better than they really are.

Most experts agree that technology can’t remain the change agent that’s been for the past 25 years if the industry isn’t attracting talent from a deep pool.

In the keynote panel session recording below from the Channel Partners Conference & Expo, April 19, 2018, Carolyn April, senior director, industry analysis, CompTIA, walks us through her study on diversity and shares insights and observations.

Her panel of industry insiders includes Microsoft’s Rokeya Jones, RingCentral’s Aaron Leveston and Northeastern Illinois University’s Graciela Perera. When done with the video, read our recap from their presentation here.
