Tango Networks Introduces Abrazo

Tango Networks Inc. introduced the Tango Abrazo, a converged telecommunications platform that integrates any mobile phone with any office telephone system, at CTIA Wireless 2007.

It enables mobile operators to integrate all phones with any corporate PBX, Centrex or unified communications network.

The Tango Abrazo, which takes its name from the opening move of the tango dance (abrazo means embrace), is based on a hybrid architecture that includes both carrier and enterprise components.

Supporting legacy and IMS industry standards, the platform allows wireless operators to offer a value-added FMC service that integrates the mobile network with the customized environments of its enterprise customers. The business retains control over its users and corporate information without the need for carrier management and support, Tango said.

The product works with any existing mobile phone and supports a few hundred to more than 25,000 users in the enterprise, and works with legacy TDM, hybrid, or IP PBXs.

The Tango Abrazo is being tested in various customer environments and is anticipated to be generally available in late second quarter of this year, the company said.
