CHANNEL PARTNERS Star 2 Star Communications (Booth 5039 and an Elite Sponsor) is announcing a new service at the Channel Partners Conference & Expo.

StarSIP AlwaysUp is a SIP trunking service with built-in disaster recovery. It’s designed to work with virtually all currently installed PBX systems.

Star2Star says this offering will enable agents who sell Star2Star to provide a voice solution to their customers who are not ready to replace their existing phone system, but who need reliability, quality and scalability. This offering falls in line with what agents already are comfortable selling: circuits, bandwidth, and connectivity, the company said.  StarSIP AlwaysUp allows businesses to keep their existing phone systems while providing  reliability and business-continuity features.

StarSIP AlwaysUp customers get not only reliability and call quality, they "will also be able to drive additional productivity across their mobile workforce with this solution,” said Norman Worthington, CEO of Star2Star.

The new service operates over Star2Stars Constellation Network, which the company says provides superior call quality reliability and uptime. If a customer loses power, Internet connectivity, or suffers a catastrophic facilities loss, StarSIP AlwaysUp will automatically route incoming calls to an alternate business location or to designated employee home or mobile phones.

The optional StarSIP AlwaysUp User package includes: one Direct Inward Dial (DID) phone number, configurable for individualized automatic failover in the event of a loss of on-premise connectivity, the StarScope 2 call management application, a computer-based softphone, and one StarPhone for iPhone license, which customers can use to make or receive calls at any time, anywhere.

It also includes numerous optional features not found in older SIP trunk offerings such as voice conferencing, low-cost faxing to fax machines, and the ability to add next-generation SIP phones along side existing legacy PBX devices. During an introductory period through June 30, 2014, Star2Star will provide StarChat multi-party, multi-session real-time chat, and StarVideo multi-party conferencing all at no charge.
