SolidFire Updates Element Operating System

Named Oxygen, the newest version of SolidFire’s OS introduces significant data assurance functionality that reduces operational overhead and risk with advanced data protection functionality and expanded multi-tenant security features. Building upon seven previous versions, SolidFire’s Element OS continues to deliver the industry’s most comprehensive enterprise feature set for consolidating mixed-workloads onto an agile, automated infrastructure.

Element OS 8 Oxygen introduces key functionality that enhances data protection and further heightens data security. Along with multiple usability enhancements, new capabilities in Oxygen include:

  • Synchronous Replication – Maximizes data protection against a disaster.

  • Snapshot Replication – Replicates snapshots to a second site for rollback flexibility.

  • Scheduler / Retention Manager – Simplifies the scheduling and automation of snapshots, rollback points and retention duration.

  • Expanded VLAN Tagging – Delivers industry-leading support for up to 256 secure, logically isolated, per-tenant storage networks on a single storage platform.

  • LDAP Authentication – Simplifies management with centralized user account administration.
