IP phone and software maker snom technology has released a new mobile handset for SMBs, the m9 DECT.

The VoIP phone works with all major SIP-based IP PBXs, including snoms ONE IP PBX. Each snom m9 supports four concurrent calls and can interconnect nine handsets at once. The device comes with an illuminated keypad, color display and a menu-driven graphical interface for access to advanced features such as IPv6 support, pre-installed security and voice encryption. Theres also hands-free mode, caller ID, an address book, calendar, calculator and alarm.

“The mobile-carrier world has given us a host of new mobility features that are attractive to users in an office setting but not possible with traditional desktop phone,” said snom COO Mike Storella. “The snom m9 bridges the two, providing the best functionality of the mobile world with the desktop features essential to advanced IP communications.”

The m9 uses the DECT frequency band for high stand-by time and superior speech quality, snom said.
