Samsung Releases New OfficeServ Platform

Samsung Business Communication System (BCS) on Monday released a new version of its OfficeServ converged platform, the OfficeServ 7400.

It offers higher port capacity than the OfficeServ 7200, as well as a gigabit Ethernet backbone and 64-channel MGI cards that enable larger VoIP applications and support for up to 500 users.

“By really listening to our network of dealers and to enterprise end users, we have been able to design and provide a single communications tool that enables mobility, productivity, flexibility and efficiency for smaller enterprises, for standard offices or for more advanced data center environments all at a fraction of the cost of other solutions, said Steve Gobeli, vice president of Samsung Telecommunications America, BCS Division

Gobeli said the new platform also is easy to install and maintain.

“This is critical for our dealers and companies that don’t have extensive IT departments or large IT budgets, he explained.

Like the OfficeServ 7200, the new platform supports Samsung’s VoIP, WLAN, traditional and IP phones. It also supports IP data and other communications peripherals, and provides QoS control. The 7400 system lets users migrate from the 7200 platform by using many of the existing components and installation and maintenance procedures.

The OfficeServ 7400 converged platform now is available through Samsung’s dealer network.
