Ron Ireland, channel chief of VoIP services provider GLOBALINX, has left the company amicably, as a personal move necessitated a professional one as well.

Ireland, who lived in central California, where GLOBALINX runs its second location in Santa Barbara (which used to be TMC Communications), recently remarried; his new wife lives in Denver, and Ireland moved to the Centennial State to be with her. GLOBALINXs corporate policy is that anyone in a senior management position must work out of one of the companys two offices the other is in New York.

These roles provide leadership in many facets in the office that simply cannot be done while working remotely,” said Michael Machonkin, GLOBALINXs vice president of sales and marketing. Machonkin is overseeing the companys channel operations until Irelands replacement is announced; that is expected to happen in early November.

Meanwhile, GLOBALINX says Ireland will be missed.

He worked with us through the end of August and we parted on very good terms,” Machonkin said.

Ireland had worked for TMC Communications, a network services provider, since 1998. But earlier this year, TMC was bought out by GLOBALINX for an undisclosed sum. At TMC, Ireland served as CFO and president; at GLOBALINX, he was the vice president of channel development.
