TELCO INTRODUCES T5 COMPACT TARGET IDENTIFIER
Telco Systems has introduced its T5 Compact Target Identifier, a switch that lets carriers conserve IP addresses by aggregating the management of up to 480 network elements through a single IP address using the Bellcore Translation Language 1 protocol for multivendor, multitechnology CO management.
The T5 Compact TID also reduces the amounts of network operation center switches, cabling and other equipment required for network element alarm monitoring. The T5 Compact TID is a single rack unit switch, measuring 19 x 1.75 x 12 inches, and can be installed in existing equipment racks.
It supports 48 fixed 10/100BaseT ports, and is NEBS-certified with internal redundant power supplies.

BELAIR NETWORKS ANNOUNCES AVAILABILITY OF CELLULAR LAN PLATFORM
BelAir Networks announced the BelAir200 cellular LAN platform is generally available. Introduced in October 2003, the BelAir200 is in volume production and is shipping to customers in North America.
The BelAir200 is a modular platform available in 13 configurations that can be used to build Wi-Fi networks for a single private building or scale up to carrier-grade, citywide networks.
It is built around a network processing core and can be configured with multiple, independent Wi-Fi access and backhaul radio modules. The system is designed for outdoor use and can be mounted directly on light poles in parking lots or on city streets.
The Access Radio Module in the BelAir200 includes a highpower, enhanced 2.4 GHz radio and custom antenna optimized to beam Wi-Fi signals into a building from outside to provide coverage to multiple floors at once. The BelAir 200 can be configured with up to three Backhaul Radio Modules that operate in the 5 GHz band and create multiple point-topoint links to form a secure wireless mesh backhaul for the system. This unique approach simplifies WLAN infrastructures for large networks, eliminates disruptive in-building deployments and substantially reduces backhaul and installation costs.

ILC UNVEILS MAXVIEW CHORUS
Network control software developer ILC has released the MaxView Chorus trouble-ticketing system to help service providers drive down service repair times. MaxView Chorus is designed to improve mean time-to-repair by allowing everyone involved in the problem-resolution process to store and access detailed, historical information about a ticket.
Service providers will be able to fix or prevent problems by learning from previous recovery methods, viewed in Chorus’ database.
MaxView Chorus is designed to allow customer service centers, operations centers and technicians to accelerate response times by coordinating their activities through the system’s browser-based graphical interface. MaxView Chorus includes automatic alerts, fault categorization, customer access, performance management, service reports and real-time ticket status.

USHACOMM RELEASES UNICORN 6
Global software company Usha Communications Technology’s (UshaComm) flagship billing solution, Unicorn 6, is available. A convergent, modular customer care and billing application, Unicorn 6 has an advanced, layered, multiservice architecture with built-in modular functionality that can be configured without customizing the core billing capabilities, says the company.
The Unicorn 6 rating engine can be implemented as a stand-alone device in the telecom OSS environment, supporting Tier 3 through Tier 1 operations. Its rating architecture can price CDRs using different technology pipes, such as mobile or wireline, and assign jobs to the leastloaded pricing engine. The number of running process threads can increase or decrease dynamically as the CDR load rises or falls.
The company says centralized rating cache and batch processing servers mean there is no single point of failure during the CDR processing lifecycle because any instance that fails throughout the preparation, processing (discounting and billing), or commitment cycles can be handled by another, making Unicorn 6 fail-safe and a revenue assurance guarantor.
