CLEARONE SHIPS RAV CONFERENCING SYSTEM

Conferencing company ClearOne Communications Inc. is shipping its RAV business conferencing system for corporate meeting rooms.

RAV is an audio conferencing system that includes an audio mixer, loudspeakers, microphones and a wireless control device. ClearOne says RAV connects to other systems including video and Web conferencing. It also features Gentners distributed echo cancellation, noise cancellation, microphone gating and a drag-and-drop GUI for system setup, control and management.

The system is available in two models, RAV 600 and RAV 900. RAV 600 includes an audio mixer with an integrated telephone interface and amplifier, two Bose ceiling- or wall-mount speakers, a wireless control unit, software and two microphone pods. RAV 900 adds an extra microphone pod. Both models include Ethernet control for remote management and configuration.

3COM DELIVERS ETHERNET SWITCH FOR SMBS

3Com Corp. introduced in December the 3Com Baseline Switch 2226-PWR Plus, which enables small and medium business customers to take advantage of power over Ethernet (PoE) and 3Coms prioritization technology for IP telephony.

This new 3Com Baseline Plus switch combines Webconfigurable management features, automated quality of service for voice prioritization, flexible media Gigabit uplinks and other enterprise-class features along with PoE on all 24 10/100 ports. The switch also supports PoE-enabled wireless LAN access points.

3com says the Layer 2 switch is ideal for SMB wiring closets or branch office environments that use LAN infrastructure for the deployment of network applications such as IP telephones, wireless LAN access points, network jacks, video surveillance and remote video kiosks.

The 3Com Baseline 2226-PWR Plus is currently shipping and lists for $1,295.
