Ojo Enhanced to Interoperate With Other Video Phones, PC Soft Clients
Personal video phone provider WorldGate Communications Inc. announced its Ojo video phone now can communicate with video phones using H.263 and G729 video and audio codecs and utilize the H.323 communications protocol. The added functionality allows users to make video phone calls between the Ojo and a PC with a Web cam.
Ojo uses SIP communications protocol, as well as the H.264 video codec and iLBC audio codec, to improve video telephony performance, the company said.
We are confident that this interoperability will not only further the advancement of the video phone market, but also Ojos market penetration and leadership position within that market, said Hal Krisbergh, chairman and CEO of WorldGate.
The video phones expanded capability is available to service providers deploying Ojo as part of their service offerings.
