Play Ball

Rogers Communications Inc. (www. rogers.com)
has agreed to purchase a controlling interest in Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club
and Total Sports Inc. (www.bluejays.ca)
from Belgian beer giant Interbrew SA (www.interbrew.com)
for $112 million.

The Canadian-based Rogers Communications will acquire an 80 percent interest
in the club, which plays in the American League. The sale is subject to
adjustments, and major league baseball and regulatory approval.

Through its subsidiaries, Rogers Communications is engaged in the telephony,
Internet, radio and television businesses.

AT&T Makes Religions Hot

AT&T Corp. (www.att.com) has become the
target of 27 religious and socially concerned institutional investors because of
its decision to partner with The Hot Network (www.thehotnetwork.com),
which distributes sexually explicit material for cable television broadcast.

The 27 entities represent 2.8 million shares of AT&T stock. The coalition
is led by Mennonite Mutual Aid, home of the MMA Praxis Mutual Funds.

A letter was sent to AT&T that calls on the telecommunications giant to
be a responsible corporate citizen.

The signers emphasized they are not calling for censorship, but are
exercising their right to discourage what they consider to be irresponsible
corporate behavior.
