Nitel’s former sales chief has gone to work for Voxox.

Voxox, the unified cloud communications provider, hired Kevin Weber as executive vice president of sales. Weber will lead all sales efforts, which include growing Voxox’s sales team and developing its distribution channel.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin, a highly experienced and talented leader, to the Voxox executive team,” said Vovox CEO and co-founder Bryan Hertz. “Kevin’s proven track record and vision for expanding our sales organization and channel efforts are well aligned with our overall strategy and growth goals for 2017-2018. We are lucky to have gathered such an incredible team at Voxox and look forward to continuing to disrupt the telecom space with innovative solutions and smart customer service.”

Hosted IP PBX, SMS and SIP trunking are three of Voxox’s main offerings.

Weber worked at Nitel for the last six years as vice president of sales. He worked for another Chicago-based company, Primus Telecommunications, where he was vice president of sales and operations. He helped found Cbeyond in 2000 and was the first member of the company’s sales team. He also managed direct sales for Intermedia two decades ago. Voxox says many of Weber’s tenures have seen him help build sales teams to a national level.

“My greatest strength and passion lies in taking a sales organization to the next level,” Weber said. “Voxox has a wide breadth of SME products, strong sales and support teams, and key channel connections in place. The company is in excellent shape for building upon this foundation and driving more revenue through an expanded footprint and sales growth strategy.”

Weber might have moved on, but Nitel has filled several executive openings this year, including a new vice president of channel sales and account development.
