Multi-Technology Introduces Click-to-Talk Server

Multi-Technology Systems Inc. (Booth 1327), a provider of products for data communications and telecom, debuts its TalkAnytime Media Server designed to add real-time voice calls over the Internet between Web site visitors and company representatives, also known as click-to-talk.

The calls, made as VoIP into the PBX, can be used for e-commerce, online support or inquiries about products. Connecting a companys PBX with its IP network, the new media server is a hardware and software product that offers a variety of models, from four and eight channels to 24 and 30 channels. Each channel accommodates one click-to-talk phone call between a Web site visitor and company personnel.

The TalkAnytime server models are available for shipping with MSRP pricing as follows: TA410 (four channels) at $1,699; TA810 (eight channels) at $2,699; TA2410 (24 channels) at $3,699; and TA3010 (30 channels) at $4,699. Multi-Technology TalkAnytime Media Server is a complete product that includes a VoIP gateway and client software for the callers computer.

When a TalkAnytime button on a Web site is pushed, the client software is downloaded to a visitors PC running Windows and Internet Explorer. The client automatically initiates an Internet call to the media server connected to the customers PBX. The media server then completes the call to the appropriate personnel.

The PC client consists of a media driver, codec driver, TalkAnytime call setup protocol and client configuration interface.

The media server is built on Multi-Technology SystemsVoIP gateway technology. It includes a set of PBX interfaces, a 10/100 Ethernet interface for connection to an IP network and a full complement of advanced features, such as a high-resolution adaptive jitter buffer combined with error concealment.

Installation of the TalkAnytime Media Server is as simple as connecting it to appropriate PBX interface cards and the IP network, then running the Web-based administration program.
