Mitel and Google Cloud have partnered to assist remote work forces with solutions that allow users to communicate and collaborate from anywhere.

The partnership with Google Cloud delivers security, reliability and compliance for cloud communications. Businesses, hospitals, schools and public service agencies are using enterprise-class communications to work from anywhere as they adapt to the impact of COVID-19.

Scott Peterson is Mitel‘s senior vice president of the Americas. He said the offerings are make it easier for customers to move to remote work forces with minimal disruption.

“Mitel partners are the linchpin in helping them seamlessly transition with a solution that best meets their unique requirements and integrates with their current infrastructure,” he said. “In serving as a trusted adviser for customers, especially in today’s environment, our partners also have opportunities to guide customers as they put in place longer-term strategies for the future of work.”

Mitel has seen rapid growth in demand across its portfolio as organizations ramp up their new work requirements. Teleworking licenses for Mitel’s collaboration applications have increased tenfold, while MiTeam Meetings usage has grown by more than 500%.

Similarly, usage of the MiCloud Connect Teamwork collaboration application has doubled in recent weeks. Health care organizations have prompted a spike in demand for portable devices.

“From our own conversations with customers and in speaking with Mitel’s partners, the greatest need right now for many businesses is financial assistance and free services to help them manage through the sudden changes,” Peterson said.

Mitel’s solutions underpin operations for organizations such as Tulane Health Science Center, First Assistance and others globally.

In recent weeks, Mitel assisted critical front line health care facilities, statewide government agencies, schools and universities, and major professional sports organizations in shifting to the “new normal.”

“Our cloud-based applications give us on-demand scalability and quick provisioning,” Peterson said. “We also have the benefit of increased scalability and greater security through our partnership with Google Cloud. Mitel has proven success in supporting customers’ mobility and remote working requirements around the world, and has a broad portfolio of solutions that enable work from anywhere including video/meetings, softphones, collaboration applications, and devices.”

Mitel recently announced multiple special offers that provide financial relief for businesses, including:

  • Free MiCloud Connect services until 2021;

  • MiTeam Meetings six-month trial; and

  • Fifty percent off all self-paced training, available virtually.
