MegaPath has expanded its wireless coverage and failover services to include 4G.

The managed services provider also has opened its managed wireless failover services to single-site organizations and SMBs that rely on MegaPath for their primary access. The capability previously was offered just to enterprises. MegaPath supplies wireless failover for T1, Ethernet, DSL and cable connections.

The addition of 4G means organizations in covered regions can get bandwidth speeds of up to 10 times faster than 3G, MegaPath said. The company also has beefed up its 3G footprint.

In todays economy, businesses cannot afford to halt operations because employees cant communicate or process transactions," said Dan Foster, president of MegaPath’s business markets group. "Businesses require a continuity plan that includes a resilient connection to access data, process transactions and serve customers if a primary circuit is interrupted.”

MegaPath did not say which operator it is using as its underlying provider.
