Jenne Adds Bluesocket Products to Lineup

Value-added distributor Jenne Inc. has added Bluesocket products to its lineup.

Bluesocket specializes in 802.11n wireless networking with virtual control and was recently bought by gear-maker ADTRAN Inc.

The new agreement means Jenne resellers may sell virtualized controllers for scalability  one ADTRAN Bluesocket vWLAN software package can support up to 1,500 access points and security management. That’s good news for end users, said Craig Rocco, Jenne’s data product line manager.  

“[Customers] are able to virtually eliminate the investment for physical controllers which can cost in excess of $25,000,” he said. “This represents not only a huge potential savings, but also greater control and security at the network edge since you can set up very specific access criteria.”

Bluesocket’s software works with a range of networking vendors. Jenne said its sales people are fully certified on those solutions and also provide technical support for reseller customers. Jenne specializes in IP telephony, audio and video conferencing, data networking and IT security products from dozens of suppliers.
