Intermedia has launched its own file-sharing service to help businesses cut down on the security and IT concerns associated with brands designed for consumers.

The cloud and applications provider this week debuted SecuriSync, a file collaboration services billed as being as easy to use as Dropbox, but containing the security and controls organizations need.

Like other platforms, SecuriSync keeps files and folders synced in real-time across desktops and mobile devices. It also lets recipients inside and outside of the company share files and folders. However, unlike consumer-grade services, SecuriSync features sharing permissions, at-rest and in-transit encryption, remote wipe capabilities and a five-nines SLA that protects all user content.

Intermedia offers SecuriSync on a managed basis through its HostPilot control panel, which allows IT administrator to oversee user settings and more. SecuriSync integrates with Microsoft Active Directory, and Outlook and Office, as well as Intermedia’s own Office in the Cloud suite.

For channel partners, SecuriSync offers a way to fully own the customer relationship. Intermedia said the platform is available on a gray-label basis, so resellers control billing, branding, bundling and pricing.
