Intelisys, the master agent that’s now a ScanSource company, has added a seventh solutions engineer, Michael Gorman, to its national team.

Based in Southern California, Gorman will support sales partners in the Southwest and will report to J.R. Cook, senior vice president of the West region. His 25-year engineering and sales career history spans across the channel, SMB and enterprise markets.

He most recently served as the senior director of technical pre-sales with Inference Solutions, and held multiple senior leadership roles with companies such as Evolve IP and Dell Services (now NTT Data).

“As technology advances, we anticipate enormous growth in cloud technologies like IaaS, contact center analytics, artificial intelligence and advanced speech technology,” Gorman said. “I am excited to help my sales partners develop an insight into technology through the life cycle of a project, create dynamic solutions, and deliver top-level service and support. I look forward to learning more about my partners’ businesses, helping them make the most of opportunities and supporting them through to the finish line.”

Proficient in data networking, IP telephony and enterprise convergence, Gorman also brings SME-level knowledge from his experience with Cisco, Avaya, Broadsoft, Nutanix, AWS, Docker, Zerto and many other technologies. His expertise around UCaaS, CCaaS and cloud computing will provide increased value to Intelisys sales partners in the Southwest, the company said.

“The value of a good solutions engineer is in enabling sales partners to successfully engage in both business conversations at the C-level and technical deep dives with IT leaders, as well as providing a comprehensive understanding of the myriad technology solutions available to meet the unique needs of their customers,” Cook said. “Mike checks all these boxes, and, most importantly, he’s built from Intelisys DNA, which makes him the perfect fit for our solutions engineering team. We are excited to bring this additional support and dedicated solutions engineering resources to our sales partners in the growing Southwest region.”

Last month, Intelisys announced it had hired a senior manager of strategic partner development in the Southeast.
