ILD Adds USF Feature

ILD Telecommunications Inc. (Booth 218) has enhanced its LEC Billing Services Group product with a State USF Feature. The software flags the states where administrative fees are allowed. ILD points out that not all states require a USF fee, so not all of them allow providers to charge administrative fees. ILD says it is working with its regulatory department to ensure the rules are followed.

The USF feature is important because state regulatory agencies will penalize companies that charge the administrative fees in states where the fees are not allowed, according to ILD.

The provider is always held responsible for paying the USF fees if an end user does not, the company says.

ILD says, in most cases, administrative fees can be rolled into one line item, reducing the expense for another processing fee. ILD also will separate the State USF with a separate code for payment remittance to the proper agencies.

ILD says it also will allow a fixed administrative fee per billing telephone number either monthly, or weekly, according to the state-specific requirements.
